How does a gas-strut work?
Great question, I’m so glad you asked. The mast is complemented by a gas strut at the apex of the main spar, this creates an anti-gravity system where the strut takes the weight of the umbrella during the lifting and retraction of the umbrella. This makes it easy to bring it up in an instant so you can enjoy the umbrella for longer.
