Dubai is well known for its architecture and heat. At Shadowspec, design and technology drive innovation to protect guests from the sun. We’re driven by a desire to look after people and getting our flagship umbrellas in front of the world at Expo 2020 Dubai is an amazing opportunity for us.
Shadowspec’s flagship range of umbrellas was the perfect choice for Architects Jasmax, in their design of the stunning New Zealand Pavilion that opened with a dawn ceremony on the 30th of September 2021 in Dubai. The umbrellas, the Shadowspec Unity, have been installed in front of the pavilion to create a sheltered queueing area where socially distanced patrons can wait their turn to enter whilst being protected by the shade of a Shadowspec umbrella.
The opportunity to showcase our innovation whilst caring for people who are choosing to learn more about Aotearoa New Zealand is important to our company, this is why we make umbrellas.
The Expo is on in Dubai for six months running from the 1st October 2021 until 31st March 2022 and Shadowspecs umbrellas will be there every day looking after people from around the world, all the way from Whangarei, New Zealand.
Having built the umbrella right here in Northland, Shadowspec is tapping into the creativity, engineering and hard work that typify our region and they’re excited to share that with the world.
